Can Chocolate Improve Your
Brain? – Ajit Patel Sanda
Wellness
A study published in the journal,
Appetite, has found that frequent chocolate consumption is
significantly associated with better performance on cognitive
tests such as visual-spatial memory and organisation, working memory,
scanning and tracking, abstract reasoning, and the mini-mental state examination. It’s thought that
cocoa flavanols are responsible for the effect. High levels
o flavanols are also found in tea, red wine and certain
fruits such as grapes and apples – but the latest research is
another reason to enjoy good quality, dark chocolate at
its best. It’s made from cocoa beans so it counts as a vegetable,
right?
